Demolition Program

Demolition of vacant and abandoned structures is a key element in eliminating blight in our communities. Our program is designed to work in conjunction with a transfer to a qualified buyer or while the Land Bank works to identify a homeowner for potential side lot use.

Once the structure(s) have been approved for demolition, the Land Bank may have an asbestos survey performed by a qualified asbestos consultant. If it is deemed necessary, an asbestos contractor will be contracted to remediate the asbestos with current EPA requirements.

The Land Bank will prepare detailed bid specifications and solicit bids from pre-qualified demolition contractors. Awards to the pre-qualified contracts will be based on the lowest and best bid. See Contractors Solicitation for Bids section for any current demolition projects.
